Yin Yoga

With Lina

Sunday 16:00

This class can be held in Lithuanian or English.

Yin Yoga is tranquility, a fusion with the body,  allowing yourself to simply be, without demanding anything, setting conditions, or harbouring expectations. It is a mindfulness practice grounded in experiencing bodily sensations, whether through gentle movement or stillness.

The path of Yin Yoga originates from the ancient Chinese philosophy of Daoism, which emphasizes living in harmony with oneself and the surrounding environment.

This yoga practice is slow and passive - each pose may be held for 2–5 minutes, focusing not on external actions but on internal transformations, states, and experiences. Yin Yoga stimulates the body's deep connective tissues and internal network (joints, ligaments, tendons, bones, and the fascia system that envelops the entire body). Not surprisingly, Yin Yoga is also referred to as relaxation yoga. Here, there are no concepts of “right” or “wrong,” “good” or “bad” - each participant embarks on a personal inner journey, which is unique to them.

Anyone can participate in this practice, no prior preparation is required. Practice is perfectly suitable for pregnant women.

YOGA TEACHER

Lina
Aukštuolė

I am a certified Yoga Alliance teacher (RYT 200) and I teach Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin yoga. I am also a certified Children's yoga teacher (Yoga Alliance YACEP courses "Yoga Zoo"). In my practices, I emphasize attentiveness, functionality (poses adaptation to different bodies) and sensations (somatic movement). In order to provide a deeper yoga experience, I use the principles of mindfulness-based stress management.

I believe that yoga does not only happen on the mat as everyone can bring it home  and adapt it to their own life journey. Knowing what yoga and how we experience it are very important parts of the practice.
